In Fall 2005, the Department of Computer and Information Sciences website was launched. The ETC developed the site as a marketing piece for prospective students and as a way to engage our alumni. The CS alumni have participated in providing testimonials for the site and several have expressed a desire to become more involved with the department as a result of the new site. The site also provides content for current students and faculty.

One of the special features on the site is a dynamic Home that rotates news articles and displays "Faces in Computer Science." The "Faces" section is a question/answer format where our faculty, staff, and graduate assistants can offer a personal and fun glimpse of themselves to our CS audience.

The site is maintained and upgraded on a continuing basis with news articles and job postings. The development of the site has also provided an environment of collaboration between the Computer Science and Mass Communications Departments. This collaboration has given the students in both departments an opportunity to work together while developing content for the site. Several students and faculty members of CS have been interviewed by Mass Communications students, which provided an opportunity to teach “web writing” for the Mass Communications department.
