James Trenda - Grad
- What is your favorite food? If your favorite food is not common to this locale, please describe it.
- Oh, gosh. That is a tough one, but I think I could live off salt and vinegar potato chips.
- What surprised you the most when you first came to ETSU?
- There was no football team.
- Do you participate in any sports?
- Not really. I played baseball and some football in high school. I do enjoy getting over to the CPA to work out and shoot basketball, though.
- What is your favorite bumper sticker?
- The next time you think you're perfect, try walking on water.
- Best cup of coffee in town:
- I'm not a big coffee drinker, but, when I get the urge, I head over to Starbucks.
- Favorite indoor activity:
- Sleep.
- If you could change one thing about ETSU or your time here, what would it be?
- If I could change one thing about ETSU, it'd be to get on that rumored parking garage project.
- Why did you come to ETSU?
- I finished my undergrad at Carson-Newman College, right about the time companies started enforcing hiring freezes, and with my actual work experience being as limited as it was, I decided the best option would be to continue my education.
Dr. Phil Pfeiffer had made several visits to C-N to speak to us about the CSCI program and to promote graduate assistantships. It sounded like a good fit, so I contacted him, and here I am.
- How long have you been at ETSU?
- I am a first-year graduate student. This is my second semester.
- Favorite outdoor activity:
- Throwing the baseball around.
- Favorite aspect of living at (or around) ETSU:
- I love that we're surrounded by mountains.
- Favorite local food source:
- I do most of my grocery shopping at Earth Fare, if that's what you're asking.
- Are you an organ donor? Why?
- Why not? I won't need them where I'm going.
- What is the biggest accomplishment in your life up to today?
- That's an easy one! My biggest accomplishment in my life so far was putting a ring on my girlfriend's finger. We're getting married on August 14, 2010!
- Your greatest hidden talent:
- Well, if I told you, it wouldn't be hidden anymore.
