Don Bailes - Faculty
- Do you participate in any sports?
- I work out regularly at the Wellness Center, and I love to scuba dive, especially when I am at a place that has warm, clear water.
- What is your primary mode of transportation?
- I enjoy walking but my ancient knees and ankles prevent my doing more of it. For significant distances, I usually drive.
- Are you an organ donor? Why?
- Yes. Why not?
- When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up? How about now?
- When I was 10, I wanted to be a space explorer - going where no man has gone before. Now, I'd just like to be able to do all of the things I could when I was 25, and do them more athletically than I could then.
- How old are you? How old do you feel?
- Older than the earth's crust. Ditto, physically, but much younger mentally.
- Why did you come to ETSU?
- Job.
- What is your hometown?
- Johnson City has been my hometown for the last 30+ years, but I was born in Greenwood, SC.
- Favorite outdoor activity:
- Boating, scuba diving, and water skiing
- All-time favorite book:
- Bible
- If you could change one thing about ETSU or your time here, what would it be?
- Quadruple faculty salaries in C & IS.
- Do you volunteer anywhere?
- I volunteer in several roles including webmaster at my church. I also volunteer one evening a month at the VA domiciliary.
- What is your greatest hidden talent?
- If I have a talent, it must be well-hidden, because I can't find it either.
- How long have you been at ETSU?
- I think I arrived at the time of the big bang, or possibly just prior to that.
- Best cup of coffee in town:
- I have no idea since I don't drink coffee.
